If you’re looking for the chance of a lifetime to hunt monster free-ranging Kansas Whitetails, your search is over.  We offer hunts in South Central Kansas in units 5 and 15 on strictly game managed properties where wildlife is fed protein year-round in addition to numerous food plots in place consisting of alfalfa, soybean and rye.

Hunts are conducted from comfortable ladder stands along travel corridors, 15 ft elevated box blinds over food plots and strategically placed

pop-up blinds near bedding areas.  We host a limited number of hunters annually to keep our quality and success rates high.

Early muzzleloader, archery rut and post rut rifle hunts are available on a very limited basis.  Bucks average gross score 145 –160 B&C with the chance of taking a 160-200 B&C possible.  Body weights reach 250+ lbs on  mature animals.

Stay in a rustic first class lodge fully equipped on property and relax on the deck next to an 18-acre lake in the the backyard while catching
bass, crappie and catfish.

Temperatures can range from 50F to 95F on our muzzleloader hunts in September and from 10F to 50F on our December firearms season.

Application deadline for non-resident deer permits through the Kansas Parks and Wildlife Dept. is May 31 annually.  If you are unsuccessful for the drawing or missed the application deadline, we hold transferable landowner deer tags for an additional fee.

This is a chance for the truly discriminating sportsman to harvest a world-class whitetail under fair chase conditions, so contact us for dates and availability.

"Desert Safaris operation is exceptionally
well run.  Not only do they make sure all the
hunting details are properly attended to,
but they also make sure everyone is having
a great time. They were great guys all
the way around, who I can highly recommend."

2006 season hunt facts

This year proved to be average for Desert Safaris in Kansas this year hosting 10 hunters taking 8 bucks total. The rut began late this year correlated with warm temperatures making difficult conditions. The largest deer harvested this year were a muzzleloader buck in the 150 BC class and during the firearms season we took a 150 class animal and a monster 8 point that grossed over 160 BC. We have moved our operation to the Southeastern part of the state in Unit 2 with over 3,000 acres of private ground with numerous hayfields, creek-bottoms, heavy timber and CRP grass patches - excellent whitetail habitat that is producing some sleeper bucks.
